The grading for the course is made up of 4 equally weighted quizzes, lab assignments and your in-class/in-lab participation.

  Quizzes 40% (4 * 10% each)
  Lab Assignments 50%
  Participation 10%

Quizzes

The quizzes are designed to encourage you to keep up with the reading and lecture material. Quizzes are cumulative, but focus on the most recent material. On the day of a quiz, the quiz will start at the beginning of class and take the first 30 minutes of class. The quizzes are scheduled in advance for the following days:

  Quiz 1 Thursday October 20th
  Quiz 2 Thursday November 3rd
  Quiz 3 Thursday November 17th
  Quiz 4 Tuesday December 6th

Lab Assignments

There will be nearly weekly lab assignments handed out in lab section and (generally) due in the next lab section. Several lab assignments are designed to build on each other, meaning you will need the result you generated in the previous lab to do the next lab.

Text Books

The course has one required text. Readings are assigned for class meeting. These are listed on the weekly reading and lecture schedule. You should plan to have the readings completed before you come to lecture.
